MY STORY: A DIGITAL STRATEGIST AT HEART

It was by accident I fell head-over-heels for university and computing science. But it was working for a company whose clients included Microsoft, Adobe and Corel, that I discovered my true love ‒ giving birth to brands on the web.

At 32, I broke loose from a six-digit salary, to explore the world of bringing brands to life on the web on my own. LIFE HAS NEVER SINCE, been the same.

I have often found myself hyperventilating with excitement (and no, that is no exaggeration).

PASSION KICKED:

  • I envisioned, designed, implemented and launched several online web applications that were the first of their kinds; launches that took their first steps within the ❝Innovators Stage❞ as described by the Diffusion of Innovations Theory.
  • I have had people from all over the world telling me how cool my web applications were.
  • I had no idea what the heck I had gotten myself into, but kept pushing all hours of the day and night for weeks on end ‒ with excitement and unbridled energy.
  • I had become the target of copycat entrepreneurs ‒ uncovering one full-out post from an Oregonian searching for the cheapest and fastest developers to copy my site.

A MARATHON JUNKIE AND KID WISH GRANTOR

In 2011,  I took a step of a different kind; an exploration into online fundraising and pushing my body through perceived limitations by running marathons.

I opened the door to begin to realize another kind of dream ‒ to help kids realize their dreams.

Two challenges were born:

  1. Run a marathon-a-month and
  2. Raise money for my charity of choice through the web ‒ the Make-A-Wish Foundation ‒ to help their kids realize one dream. 

BUTS GAVE WAY to an ecstatic ❝I did it!❞

  • I raised over $6,000 through online donations, and
  • I ran seven marathons and one ultra-marathon, which included over 8,000 feet in elevation gain.

    The eye-opening bit? I had only trained four months prior. This once deemed im-possible feat was in fact - POSSIBLE.

MY WHY:

I am happiest engaging and working with people interested in ❝stretching their edge❞ while reaching for their full potential.

Today, I am on a mission to assist brands to blaze their UNIQUE trail through this NEW social media universe; to help them ignite the attention of two billion online prospects in their own special way.

I am on a mission to demystify, simplify and customize paths to attract + convert; to meet each brand’s unique definition of SUCCESS.

Together, we work to compete to excite, captivate and convert inbound attention through creative Facebook and Twitter campaigns. Numbers are set, results measured and reported, and strategies refined.

I live to continually stretch my edge, to REACH FOR THE EVER-CHANGING IMPOSSIBLE and to inspire and be inspired.

A FUN FACT: 

Instead of a lemonade stand at age 10, I carved matches picked up off the ground - and sold them as toothpicks for $0.10.

Business Model: Fundraising was achieved through a web application I developed. For a given race, donations would be accepted and paid out - if the race's time goal was achieved by me. Accomplishments: • Gained over $6,000 in fundraising for the marathons I ran. • Ran eight marathons (had only trained 4 months prior to beginning this initiative). App users uploaded their images, overlay text, selected music and at the press of a button a flash-based card was generated. Cards could then be downloaded or emailed around the world. Business Model: Revenue was based on per-card generated. Three Year Accomplishments: • This was my first web application developed and launched by myself. • I gained a following of card creators around the world during this Innovation stage of product adoption.

It was one of it's kind. • Professional artists from around the world raved about this service, as the back of every card with their image offered free promotion of their site and products for sale.
