Researcher, Entrepreneur and PhD candidate

My name is Antonio Jara; currently I am a PhD candidate at the Intelligent Systems and Telematics Research Group of the University of Murcia (UMU) fromSpain. I received two M.S. (Hons. - valedictorian) degrees. The first in Computer Science from UMU in 2009, where my Master Thesis explored the “Internet of things in clinical environments”, and a second M.S. Computer Science degree dealing with advanced networks and artificial intelligence from UMU in 2010. Here my Master Thesis pertained to “Mobility protocols for 6LoWPAN”. I have been associated with the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, UMU, since 2007, where I have been working on several projects related to the WSNs (6LoWPAN and ZigBee) and RFID applications in building automation and healthcare. I am especially focused on the design and development of new protocols for security and mobility for Future Internet of things, which is the topic of my Ph.D. I am also carrying out a degree in Master in Business Administration (MBA), and I have published over 50 international papers, As well, I hold one patent.

Finally, I am co-founder of a BIG DATA and Internet of Things company focused on personalized healthcare and energy awareness.
