Emerging Cultural Worker & Arts Professional

Hello! My name is Whitney Dail. I am an emerging cultural worker, arts administrator, and STEM to STEAM advocate who was raised in the DC/MD area by a Naval aviator-engineer and artist-entrepreneur with two brothers. I recently graduated with a Master's in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). My goal is to explore relationships between art, science, and technology through writing, curating, and contributing to multidisciplinary creative communities.

Coursework:

  • Principles of Arts Administration (AADM 701)
  • Contemporary Art (ARTH 701)
  • Historiography of Art History (ARTH 700)
  • Legal Issues in the Arts (AADM 709)
  • Arts Financial Management (AADM 720)
  • Raising Funds for Arts Organizations (AADM 739)
  • Business and Professional Writing (WRIT 743)
  • Promoting the Arts (AADM 745)

Highlights:

  • 3+ year's experience with gallery sales, artist representation, customer service, and office administration at Savannah College of Art and Design's premier gallery while simultaneously acting as an informal guide for new and prospective students.
  • 4+ year's graphic design experience for a major distributor, which required communicating visually and working effectively with other divisions within the company to achieve results within specified timetables.
  • Fun fact: Lead designer on merchandise from TV shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel with contributions to product development.
  • Tech-savvy with an interest in learning and a can-do attitude. Proficient in Windows & Mac operating systems. Software knowledge includes Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), QuickBooks, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic HTML & CSS. Desire to learn Raiser’s Edge and PastPerfect.
